The lush, well-tended garden and curvaceous swimming pool is without doubt the jewels in the crown of Villa Marika. Measuring 3m by 7m, and 1. 5m deep, the pool is surrounded by paving and open from the beginning of May. From here, the sparkling blue of the sea meets the blue of the sky and stretches out towards the horizon.
The garden enjoys sunshine all day long. Above the pool, a sloped walkway leads to a patio area with dramatic views, with an outdoor shower, chairs, deckchairs, sun loungers and parasol, plus toys for children. There is also a convenient outdoor washroom, with a shower, wash basin and toilet.
Moving towards the villa, you reach a large veranda, shaded by a tiled canopy. Here is a dining table for eight, plus a small outdoor kitchen, with a wood-burning oven, barbeque and sink. Why not having a pizza party using the wonderful, fresh local produce?
The living areas of the villa are on the upper floor, accessible from the parking area. The sleeping quarters are downstairs, with access to the terrace and garden.
The sitting room is welcoming, with a double sofa bed, armchair and dresser. There is a tiled floor in the room. A washroom is accessed from the sitting room, with toilet, bidet and sink.
The bright and spacious kitchen, the dining room for 14, plus everything you could possibly need to do during your stay. With traditional wooden cabinets, the kitchen has beautiful tiled splash backs. There is a four ring gas hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and Italian coffee maker. The leads to the terrace, where you can enjoy the sea and coastline; and also has a small patio behind the house.
A staircase with a decorative banister takes you downstairs to the sleeping area. Here are two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms, all with air conditioning and plenty of storage space. The double rooms both have French doors onto a patio and the twin rooms has a small, high window.
The four downstairs bathrooms have a shower, wash basin, toilet, bidet and hairdryer. One bathroom has a washing machine, you need to catch up with ironing board and iron also available.
Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi is just 2km from Villa Marika. As the name suggests, St. Agatha on the two Gulfs, or "Agatha on the two Gulfs" has spectacular views of the Bay of Naples on one side, and the Gulf of Salerno on the other. Here you will find several family-run restaurants, gelaterias, fresh pasta shops, fruit and vegetable stores, mini-markets, bakeries, butchers and fishmongers, coffee bars and pubs. There are many nearby walking trails to appreciate.
